Founded in 2022, PLAI was born out of a simple idea: AI can revolutionize the nonprofit sector without overwhelming it. Our founder, Kaz, saw firsthand the burnout, the endless to-do lists, and the constant struggle to make magic happen with limited time and resources. But AI was different. It offered a way to tackle challenges that once seemed impossible, transforming them into “wait, we can actually do this?” moments.

At PLAI, we’re passionate about making AI feel less like a tech trend and more like the powerful tool it is—a practical solution for nonprofits to work smarter, not harder. We believe AI shouldn’t be intimidating or overly complex. Instead, it should be accessible, easy to use, and, dare we say, fun.

We provide immersive workshops and tailored learning experiences that demystify AI and put it in the hands of mission-driven teams. Our goal is simple: help organizations harness the power of AI to amplify their impact while bringing joy back into their work.

We’re not here to push tech for tech’s sake. We’re here to help nonprofits, NGOs, and socially-driven organizations unlock AI’s potential in ways that make sense for them. Because doing good should feel good, and with PLAI, it finally can.

Kaz McGrath -
CEO & Founder

A bold thinker in systems and culture change, Kaz is a visionary leader whose career spans strategy, design, fundraising, and AI-driven change. As the founder of PLAI, her approach is rooted in understanding how strategy, psychology, and digital technologies like AI can drive transformative shifts in the nonprofit sector and beyond.

Kaz's background

Before PLAI, Kaz successfully led high-impact initiatives as Global Marketing Manager for Act for Peace and Business Development Manager for the Resilient Energy Collective, bridging grassroots nonprofits and corporate giants. She was worked with everyone from Tesla and Google to your local nonprofit. A graduate of the DSIL Innovation and Creative Leadership program, she specializes in systems thinking and human-centered design. She's obsessed with behavioural psychology, learning design and the art of data. She’s on a mission to show how AI, paired with clear purpose and bold leadership, can unlock new possibilities for organizations working to make a difference in the world.

Esther Kwaku -
Chief Creative Officer

Esther is a dynamic facilitator, creative thinker, and trainer who thrives on untangling complex, game-changing conversations. She provokes authentic dialogues that challenge conventional thinking and ignite transformation. Her work helps leaders and organizations shift toward those powerful "aha" moments that lead to meaningful and lasting change.

With over 20 years of experience, Esther has worked withinternational NGOs such as ActionAid, The Resource Alliance, and CAREInternational. Her background spans fundraising, communications, andleadership, as well as global humanitarian crises and organizational changeprograms. Esther is dedicated to helping changemakers unleash their energy, strengths, and creative superpowers.
